Enabling Innovation Through Evolving Design
Shaping the Future of Making:
Costa Tables in a Cutting-Edge Robotics & 3D Printing Lab
In a new generation of educational and manufacturing environments, where innovation meets adaptability, furniture must do more than just fill a space—it must enable it. Designed for a next-gen factory combining 3D printing and robotics, the bespoke Costa Tables are at the heart of a flexible, future-forward workshop.
With the Costa Tables, this robotics and 3D printing lab becomes more than just a place to make—it becomes a space designed to evolve with the ideas and innovations it supports.
Adding Value & Easing the Design Load
Evolving through close collaboration with the interior team, the design of the Costa Tables was refined throughout the project to meet the lab’s evolving needs. Key functional elements—such as the integrated storage compartments and dedicated wheel sections—were shaped with input from the interiors team and supported by Neatt’s technical detailing and prototyping expertise. The final result balances hands-on experimentation with high-tech learning: impact- and scratch-resistant Dekton Sirius ceramic tops provide a premium, durable surface, while custom steel bases integrate smart storage tailored to specific equipment and user requirements.
Mobility remained central to the concept. Each table, set on heavy-duty castors, can be effortlessly reconfigured to support the dynamic flow of the space—accommodating everything from collaborative sessions and focused individual work to live demonstrations—transforming the lab into a flexible, responsive environment.
